[Love Story]
It is not the distances that matters, because love will ultimately withstands all obstacles down the route of eternal happiness. In February 2004, having to study in the same college in Brisbane Australia, Jarrod had his first encounter with Hiroko through a friend’s introduction. With an invitation to a volleyball game, Hiroko and Jarrod transformed from mere acquaintances to closer friends whereby chatting and meeting up were daily norms. On 26th July 2004, an “accidental” touch with each other’s hands marks the beginning of their dedicated and devoted love relationship.
Upon graduation, Hiroko departed back to her hometown, Japan, while Jarrod continued his study in Brisbane. However, fate seemed to be putting their love to a stringent test. After finishing his study, Jarrod returned to Singapore while Hiroko went back to Australia to further her studies. As the saying goes, absence makes the heart grows fonder and despite the long distances between them, Hiroko and Jarrod were never separated in their hearts. Throughout the 3 years of absence, Jarrod never failed to call Hiroko everyday. Finally in 2008, Hiroko decided to reunite and live with her beloved in his hometown, Singapore.
After 5 years of courtships, Jarrod decided to bring their love journey to a greater height. Hence, on their 5th anniversary of 26th June 2009, Jarrod made his proposal to Hiroko and these few yet meaningful words of
“結婚するべ (Will you marry me?)” flipped over a new chapter in their love story.
